Consensus Building Process

This part of the study will apply a consensus-building process, called Delphi. This is where we will create a panel consisting of diverse stakeholders, including community members, biomedical researchers, HIV care providers, regulators, and socio-behavioral scientists. The Delphi panel will come to consensus around three critical challenges, including: 1) better engaging populations in HIV cure-related research that carry the greatest burden of HIV, 2) designing safe and meaningful HIV cure-related research and analytical treatment interruption protocols that limit barriers and burdens of participation, and 3) identifying aspects of trust that affect participation in HIV cure-related research with analytical treatment interruptions.

In addition, our research team is committed to designing protection approaches for partners of participants in trials involving analytical treatment interruptions.

We hope the consensus building process will help inform ways to better support participants and their partners during extended analytical treatment interruption studies.
